Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa
Little is known of the early life of Kondo. He was born and raised on the tropical Dominarian continent of Jamuraa. He was the son of the chief, or sidar, of a tribe of people living in an arboreal bamboo village somewhere around Zhalfir. When Kondo came of age, he performed and passed the ritual to become a man and eventual sidar of his people.
Kondo raised both his natural son and his foster son equally, even as they grew into manhood. Kondo’s son would soon take the test to become a man, just like the sidar had done when he was young. Vuel was to climb a steep mesa in order to fulfill his heritage. He was to complete this, or die. The ritual started out well, but unbeknownst to the tribe, a Rathi native named Starke had secretly drugged Vuel. Kondo’s pride in his son quickly turned to disappointment and grief as the youth stumbled.
Life in the village went on. Sidar Kondo lived on with his foster son Gerrard, unaware that Starke had twisted his disgraced son into a monster. Vuel began to direct his fury at his father, his people, and especially his half-brother. He attacked the village with a mercenary army. Sidar Kondo rallied the villagers to defend the tribe, but he was overwhelmed. Vuel appeared before his father, and with a sneer, killed him. Sidar Kondo and his people became the first casualties in the murderous ascent of Vuel, soon to be known only as Volrath. | ||||||||||
