I'm excited about this set, there's soo much flavor. The design should be great, to quote Mark Rosewater:
"If it's not about whores, it's not in this set!"
Don't really like the transform-mechanism though, double-faced cards seem awkward to me.

Well I guess the thing with the double-faced cards is the same as with the other major changes (new card face in 2003, Planeswalker-type in 2007). It seems weird at first but you'll probably get used to it. And is it so much different then morph, split cards and flip cards?

I am still in no way used to split and especially flip cards, they look fugly and the flip cards are an annoyance because there is no way to tell if it is a flipped and tapped or not flipped and tapped.
And while I am used to the new card face by now I still wish they hadn't switched. Mixed decks still look goofy, the old font looked better, brown artifacts make more sense and are better distinguishable from white cards than silver and yes, I am missing the "3D border" and the old white mana symbol.

And you still tap with a capital tilted T?

But I agree with BWM, this looks to be awesome. I'll certainly attend the prerelease, and draft as much as I can at the FNM.

Actually, yes, I prefer the tilted T symbol as well as proper card text for basic lands. I also forgot that I preferred the old backgrounds of the rules text boxes, which were different for every colour and full of atmosphere.
What I agree with is the bigger and boxed p/t thingy and expansion symbols coloured by rarity.

The basic land card text, the rules text box background and the tapping T. Damn, those weren't even around anymore when BWM and I started playing... :-D

Did I already say I think it's weird you have to put a placeholder in your deck when playing without or with transparant sleeves?

It is a plot!
A plot to make you wear and tear twice as much on your cards, by taking them in and out of sleeves at an insane level of amounts!
I love the rest of the set though, and can't wait to get my greedy fingers on them.
(Except creepy doll, which i'm kinda dissapointed in. I expected something nasty costing 1-2 mana, not a 1/5 indestructible coinflinger!)
Oh, and I got a 10th place at the monthly ranking out of 98 players!!!

Awesome! Zombie Mob just got a new definition!

On a totally unrelated note, I turned 28 zombies and all I got was this lousy Zombie T-shirt.
Whore-rays!

I have a mirror. They can't hit me.
Wait. Do they make people into whores, or do they shoot whores onto everything they hit?

You'll never find out while hiding behind your pansy mirror.
I for myself aren't whore-rified by them. Maybe I get a T-Shirt, too, for (trying) to handle them.

Err, there's no t shirt at the prereleases anymore...
Holy poo, they reprint Scavenging Ghoul for 1 mana less!!

You mean Scathe Zombies! Or they colorshifted Grizzly Bears to black!

I was talking about the T-shirt Psycho got, not those prerelease thingies.

Diregraf Ghoul is even stronger than Walking Corpse.

[...]
So... Reprinting a slightly weaker version of Yawgmoth's Will eh...

BLASPHEMER!!!!!
Bad BWM...

Well, dark ascension spoilers are complete.
4 blue cards that mill and about 8-12 other cool cards I really want to play.
Not bad for a set.

Didn't like the blue and white spells I've seen, the green ones were ok, the red ones meh. The black cards were interesting though. And many cards do push the envelope once more. It's ridiculous what you can get for 6 mana these days. Oh and Undying is just better than persist and yet they put that on creatures as if it was persist (I mean in relation to the mana cost). Stuff like Kitchen Finks was great but at least it got smaller once it came back. Now you get a 2/1 haste creature that comes back as a 3/2 (still hasting) for ... two mana!?
