A heavyweight that's been on my mind for a looong time.

If it's too strong, perhaps an 8 casting cost, or a 7/7. What do you say?

Well, all I really care about is the artwork, and the art for that card is awesome! (Did you do that? If you did, I bow to your greatness!)
I don't really think it's overpowered to tell you the truth. In fact, a Kirtar's Desire or Pacifism could take that down pretty eisily. yes, it is probably broken somehow. Leave that to someone else. The only problems I could see with it is the Afinity for Artifacts cards, like Mycosynth Golum. Again, I really have no clue. It should probably be playtested with some other recent cards to really tell.
I get the fealing that there is a story behind these cards... I want to hear it almost as much as I want to see more artwork!

Shouldn't it be an Artifact Creature - Wurm?
Just a thought.

perfectly balanced and possibly reprintable in an environment without Chrome Mox

Would be decent w/ mishra's workshop.

Maybe "Spells you play cost [ ] more to play"? Instead of lands not untaping.

I have another version:
3
Wurm Engine
Artifact Creature
Echo
LAnds to not untap as normal during thier untap phase.
This way is more synergystic w/ Black Lotus :p.

My version:
Wurm Engine 5
Artifact Creature-Wurm
Trample
Spells you play cost 1 more to play.
6/6

In Mads' defense, I like his version best. The idea is that when you bring it out, its because you fully expect to be able to win the game within the next few turns. In that case, not being able to untap lands is a fair tradeoff (especially six colorless mana for an 8/8 with trample). And its not even that debilitating if you've been relying on artifacts for mana.

Shatter, Naturalise or Disenchant. BOOM.
6 for 8/8... But the lands do not untap ablity kinda makes up for it. Great as a finishing blow...
That's my opinion.
