Eventide, the block following Shadowmoor, was announced today. It doesn't take a genius to see that the Eventide symbol is pretty much an opposite of the Morningtide symbol. However, I see absolutely no connection between the words "Morningtide" and "Eventide." The suggestion that there is a connection is ludicrous.
So what does this tell us about the upcoming "cycle" in the Magic storyline universe?

It'll basically be the exact opposite of what we've seen so far. Which will mean that it will conceivably be the greatest novel ever written with characters who actually go through some sort of personal changes and a plot that actually goes somewhere.
Also, I'm betting there will be bears. Just a hunch.

Oh I hope Eid is right. A bear block would be awesome.

"Morningtide" is basically a slightly archaic, slightly poetic way of saying "Morning time"
"Eventide" is basically a slightly archaic, slightly poetic way of saying "Evening time"
I knew that college English degree would come in useful some day.
EDIT: After thinking about it for two seconds, I have no idea why the names aren't reversed. Wouldn't "Eventide" be a better descriptor of the events that happen in "Morningtide?"
I imagine the opposite would be true, as well.

Yes. The Eventide--the world becoming dark--happens in Morningtide. If Eventide is a flip of Morningtide, then the Morningtide will happen in Eventide.

I am confused...

Don't be. "Rhys runs and fights. It's night time and then it's not. The End."
| |
Apparently, it's not only going to be night-time, it's going to be winter, as well.
Winter is Coming, that's all I've got to say...

Yep. I pointed that out before Lorwyn even came out. The whole "a natural passage of time is finally going to occur and it's going to have woeful ramifications on the world as a whole" thing has already been done. Very well. By Martin. Lorwyn is just so original.
Can Daenerys and Tyrion make a pit stop in Dominia and set fire to the whole damn place? Please? I'm pretty sure Tyrion could kick even Yawgmoth's ass.

I hope they get into some of the Nordic stuff, but I kind of doubt it, consdering they just did Coldsnap. I would still love to see more Norse influence anyway.
Or, possibly, some of the more obscure and weird folktales. I really hope they get into the more offbeat stuff.
Hm, snow might come back...
I'm really mostly in it for the art anymore, really, so hopefully this'll create some good stuff.

woohoo more Goblin Snowmen ...lol.
