There are two of these trilogies of these, right?
Well, anyways, I was wondering if they were any good at all. Can some people out there give me their opinions on them? Are there any highly notable characters? Thanks for any info

There is only one trilogy out right now, with another coming (the first book is out this December, and can be pre-ordered at Amazon.com under the title The Assassin's Blade by Scott McGough)
The first novel grabs everyone differently. Some hated it, I loved it. I'll admit that Johan wasn't to my liking, but that's probably just because I wasn't used to the style of writing. By Jedit, I was hooked. It's a very good read.
The most notable characters (at least the ones from the card set Legends) are Johan, Jedit Ojanen, and Hazezon Tamar. The books also feature cameos by Xira Arien, Ur-Drago, Ramirez DePietro, and Tor Wauki.
The second Legends Cycle is written by Scott McGough, author of Chainer's Torment, a highly recommended book. I'm sure it will be great. No characters have been mentioned, with the exception of Xira Arien, who is apparently going to make another cameo. I'm sure Mr. McGough really wishes I would shut up mentioning that Arien is going to be in the book, but that's the only character we really know of.
Since the first book is called "Assassin's Blade" and assassins in magic generally say "T: Destroy something.", I thought that Ramses Overdark might play a part in the first novel. He taps to destroy an enchanted creature. Also, he's black and blue, which generally details evil. Also Tetsuo Umezawa taps to destroy a tapped creature or a blocking creature (he's blue/black/red--another general evil combination). Note that this is complete speculation on my part. Again, it's out in December, give it a try.

There is a Portal (EEEWW!) card called Assassin's Blade.

It'd be great if you didnt become an evil corrupted supervillain with your powers, bwm

Hmmm. Kinda makes you wonder is Xira Arien is going to show up in every Legends cycle as a cameo. In three or four years, we'll be able to place her at about seven points in history, on three continents simultaneously, etc.

Hmm ... how could Xira Arien be everywhere in history unless she were, I don't know, hmm ... VOLRATH!

yeah I made the same speculation about Ramses/Testuo as the villain a while ago in the WOOHOO! thread.
My guess is Ramses cuz Testuo Umezawa is just a bit of a mouthful.

Lol. Tetsuo Umezawa is Japanese (so is Kei Takahashi and Ayesha Tanaka). Why they are in MTG, I have no idea. They can possibly be Japanese historic figures or something, thus "legends" (?).

Oh, well here's my little post. Sorry, I thought it'd go in general discussion because it doesn't directly discuss any single storyline(Or something like that). Thanks for the input though, everyone, I'll look to getting them.

Maybe names transcend cultures, to an extent, in MtG. And maybe they are just from regions that hae been little explored until now. There could be a Japanese-ish community somewhere in Jamuraa, or unexplored Aerona, or even in the many islands and archipelagos not connected with any continent.

Well, I wouldn't say Xira is a cameo in the Legends II trilogy...more like a major supporting character (oops! Did I let that slip?).
There are a few other cameos from the Johan/Jedit/Hazezon trilogy that have larger roles in my trilogy. Clayton and I may have treated the characters slightly differently, but I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I like hearing the guesses about who's going to appear and/or play what role in Legends II, so forgive me if I avoid confirming or denying any of the predictions so far. I will say that no less than ten (count 'em, 10) legendary creatures from the Legends card set appear as characters in the upcoming trilogy. This should guarantee something for everyone (I hope). And if not, there are a few original characters of my own to keep you amused and entertained.
The first book is being printed now and will be out in December. I'm, shall we say, eager for you all to get your hands on it.
Until then, keep the ideas and opinions coming.
Later,

I really hope Ur-Drago is in it. That would be great.
I also had the idea of the Sol'Kanar Dakkon Black Blackblade Carthalian story. One book for each of them. They are all connected, and would be a great story, but since already have written the first story, I doubt my idea will come true.

Ur-Drago is dead. Read Hazezon.

Yes, 'tis a pity.

But it was an AWESOME fight between Jedit and Hazezon. Makes my top five fight list for MtG.

Ur Drago may be dead in Emery's story, but these are supposed to be legends, whose true stories are lost in the mists of time. Characters and even plots are not certain things. Cindarella might be told a hundred different ways. Prince Charming always finds his way into stories.

My top 5 fights:
1) Urza vs. Gerrard
2) Mairsil vs. Primata Delphine
3) Jedit vs. Ur-Drago
4) Agnate vs. Eladamri
5) Jodah vs. Lim-Dul

Oh, we're doing this, eh? Okay.
My top 5 Fight/ Confrontations:
1) Urza vs. Mishra on Argoth
2) The whole Thran/ Phyrexian War
3) Crovax vs. Selenia
4) Squee vs. Ertai
5) Gerrard vs. Volrath (Rath and Storm)
There were some close ones, such as the fight between Volrath and Crovax (because of the fight, not the actual outcome), Mairsil vs Primata Delphine, the fight between Agnate and Eladamri, the heroes confrontation of Shauku (in Jedit), Kamahl vs Laquatus, and the fight between Urza and Gix. These are all realy close, and I just sorta picked the names out of a hat to get the order.

1. Mairsil vs. Primata Delphine
2. Kamahl vs. Laquatus
3. Urza vs Mishra
4. Jodah vs. Lim-Dûl
5. Urza vs. Gerrard

Personally, I thought the final battle between Jodah and Lim-Dul (in the Eternal Ice) was rather dull. Really just a lot of counterspell.

Xira Arien appears in one of my Jedit trilogy books (I forget where), but NOT from my doing. An editor changed the name of another character at the last minute to Xira Arien. No idea why.

It was in Johan, first four or so chapters (my god, I'm telling an author where one of their characters were).
That sounds really weird. Was Arien originally another Legend, or just a random wizard? Arien appears in Legends II, so maybe WotC just felt they wanted to get readers to warm up to her.
