Is Rath still overlayed on Dominaria or did it leave somehow? Is the Skyshroud Forest still there? And does anyone think that we may see Vecs, Kors, or Dals in Onslaught or other expansions?

its likely that Rath is still overlaid with Dominaria.

But it doesn't seem that Rath overlaid on Otaria at all.

which i think is kinda lame...continuity's excuse to keep things on Dominaria instead of having to relocate is "well Otaria wasn't affected by the invasion"

it's not like they just miss a small continent or something.

Yeah, I know, Otaria had some of the greatest warriors on Dominaria with Matoc and Balthor. Then, they had the Cabal. Then, the Mirari was there. How could Phyrexia and Yawgmoth not have noticed that?

maybe the mystical gods of Magic known as the continuity department intervened in such affairs, casting a magical veil over Otaria and protecting it from prying Phyrexian eyes so they could use it for later storyline purposes....

I'm pretty sure that its still overlayed on Dominaria because if you remember the "You Make the Card" article/contest/whatever when the choice was "creature type", Spike was an option. Unless I missed something, Spikes are only native to Rath. The card is going to appear in some later expansion so maybe we will get back to the rest of Dominaria and find out what exactly happened in the aftermath of the Invasion. And this may also include Rath still being overlayed with Dominaria.

Note: I am glad to finally have something to contribute the the DC. I never seem to have anything to say...

Listen, the overlay happed a hundred years ago. There may be parts of Otaria that may have been the result of the overlay, although by now, people take them for granted because that WAS quite some time ago. They will be engrained in about three generations by now.

As for whether or not the overlay still exists, Rath has nowhere to go. No niche in the Blind Eternities. No pocket area by Dominaria. Think of the two as one entity, not two that can still be separated.

Continuity has to explore southern Aerona, in my opinion.

I'm betting the Phyrexians were more worried about the rest of Dominaria. Sure a few good races come from the Otaria but there is to much civil unrest there. The Ineffable, in all his wisdom, probably wanted to strenghten his beach-head and wipe out the coalition forces before taking over the whole planet.

Also, while Otaria is powerful, it's definately not as powerful as the targets that they did strike (Benalia, Llanowar, Yavimaya, New Argive, Urborg, Koilos).

Koilos was not so powerful as vitally important.

Well, Kamahl says in Odyssey, that he was always knew (somehow, being born 75 years after the event- my god, his native skills for hindsight are disturbingly accurate) that Phyrexians would never take Cabal City. I would that that that implies that the Phyrexians certainly did attack Otaria. However, like eidtelnvil and Unicorn said, Otaria is less important than most places, such as those mentioned above. It is a factioned, unpeaceable place- easy to conquer when it is more important. Also, even if some of Rath overlayed onto Otaria, its current populace (except dwarves and Thriss) are not old enough to have any memories of a different world, and this has been the case for at least two or three generations
