Here is a big problem with Onslaught. I have read half the book so far and it is very similar to the spoiler given at MTGnews.com. Plus I now that there are deathworms at he end. So anyone who thought that the story (which everyone thought was fake, is pretty much true) was bad, you''ll be dissapointed with Onslaught. Plus, I have not seen Jeroth, Visera, or Arcanus mentioned in the book and they are cool characters(not ot mention Onslaught Legends).

I've read the book, and found it to be really great. Second only to Chainer's Torment. It is like the spoiler given earlier, but that was really just a fast-food version of the book. It's really very good. I even found myself liking Kamahl towards the end ... but he's still Volrath, of course.

i loved Onslaught too...it was totally different than any other of the novels so far...it actually made me understand Our Father better in one scene. I especially liked watching Kamahl kill himself multiple times. It seems that even he hates himself. When he was fighting the duplicates of himself he said that he found it " strangely satisfying to kill himself over and over" or something.
The only question: what happens in Legions? It seems pretty much over, except that Akroma is still out there.

Yeah I think Onslaught is a great book, but it really disappoints me that it doesn't include the three legends I mentioned before. On the cover of Legions that is probably Akroma, so she probably plays a big role. And all three of the expansions names were in the book (Onslaught, Legions, and Scourge) I found that cool. When they mentioned Legions it said "Kamahl felt so strong he could battle Legions." Could that possibly hint at the next book?

I'm not completely done, but are there any morphed creatures in the book. A morphed creature is suppoused to be the expansion symbol.

Just a second. The spoiler was right? Braids dies? Eid is starting to like Kamahl? WHATS GOING ON?!
Of course, I won't get to see this book for a few more months. Damn.
Oh well, at least Seton purportedly dies. Still that is no trade for the psycho queen of parties, Braids.

Squeeman, my offer still exists, I can buy the books like 1 week after they come out, I can always send one to you (offcourse, you have to pay shipment and stuff), OTOH sending takes like 2 weeks, so you're 3 weeks late...
let me know ;)

It's hard to believe, but Kamahl actually turns into a multi-demensional character. (sorry, no more Kamahl SMASH!). He has to balance his great druidic powers with a concern for the forest and its people, and later has to balance his need to free Jeska with the possibility that she might die or he might revert to his old barbaric ways. Nice.
Braids is not dead. She goes missing after the battle in the desert with the Deathwurms (which were so unbearably sweet that it defies description).
Seton does definately die. Stabbed in the back by Braids in the opening prologue of the book. I knew King was writing it when I saw a main character die in two pages. I love this man ... in a friendly way! What are you inferring?!
There are no morphed creatures in the book. Ixidor creates a few crablike creatures that I thought might be sort-of morphed, but they ended up just being giant crabs.
One of my favorite scenes was in the opening bought of the new coliseum. A renactment of the events of the Invasion Cycle as seen through the Cabal's eyes. Two men that hate each other (one with goggles for eyes) must ally with a small group of elves, dwarves, men, and minotaurs to stop another small group of "Phyrexians" composed of Cabal Nightmare creatures. Leading the "Phyrexians" was an honest-to-Ineffable Phyrexian that stared into the stands like it couldn't wait to kill each and every one gathered there. They're back, folks.
Another good part was when Kamahl had to square off against his greatest fear--himself. It's hippie Kamahl vs. SMASH Kamahl (TM eid).
It's very good, read it now.

Wish I could. DAMN! If I don't get to, I'M gonna turn into SMASH Kamahl! Aaaaaaaaaaargh!

SMASH Kamahl...sounds like the name of some action figure

I think that thats the idea. Toggle a little knob on his back, and his arm swings down then shoots back into place.

The coolest character in onslaught is Chester the mule.

Chester is awesome. Wish I had a huge donkey.

God dammit! Theres a giant mule too?! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGH!
Must... read... Onslaught... Must... fly... to... USA... and... steal copy... from geeky store.
Must... stop... believing... that... this... is... so... darn... hilarious.

LOL
Nif, you have OV now, don't you???
Come over to Nijmegen and buy your copy here...

Ixidor was boring, though. Too much "yawn" factor rather than "woah, cool" factor.
However, Chester the mule 0wnz j0o. He is the highlight of an otherwise mediocre book. I mean, who can argue with the fact that there is a giant ass in there!
Chester Da' Mule 4 Life!
