Right, In a game of Apprentice, Me and Apprentice were playing a game. (OMG! DIDN'T KNOW THAT!) Anyways
Question came up, When Apprentice uses Unearth while he has Skittering Skirge in play, does Skittering Skirge get killed? I said it's like Countering a creature using cards like Unearth, that it can't be done. But I wasn't sure, nor was Apprentice. Anyone know the answer?

Umm....I would say that the skirge lives. The skirge requires you to play a creature. That means you either payed the mana cost, or did somethign that allowed you to play it.
But Unearth takes a creature from teh graveyard, and put it into play, put it into the game. The creature is not played by Unearth. And you never played that creature spell, you played Unearth. but Unearth is a sorcery, not a creature, and thus, teh skirge does not die.

He is right. I played 8 Happy Hippies in the first TMD Invitational and nobody complained when I Unearthed Hypnos while having Steel Golem in play
Uneathing a creature does put the creature into play which is different from casting one.

Dang, you played Steel Golem? I remember playing against that deck, I remember the Warbeasts, but not Steel Golems.

You are right, there was no Steel Golem in the Apprentice version I used in the Invitational, but I had one Steel Golem in the RL-version of that deck because I was one Negator short
