Today's card of the day inspired me to try and build a deck around it using Iname, Death Aspect and Dredging.

Lands (22):
13x Swamps
4x Bayou
4x Overgrown Tomb
1x Volrath's Stronghold


The "Get 20 creatures in your grave for 4BB" toolbox (21):
4x Iname, Death Aspect
1x Kagemaro, First to Suffer
4x Plagued Rusalka
4x Revenant
4x Will-o'-the-Wisp
4x Nether Shadow


The "live until you get MK out" toolbox (17):
1x Demonic Tutor
1x Diabolic Intent
1x Mortal Combat
4x Dimir House Guard
3x Recollect
1x Yawgmoth's Will
2x Necroplasm
4x Culling the Weak


So, the trick is, basically, to get out Mortal Kombat, then play Anime, Death Aspect, and ditch all the Spirits in your deck into your graveyard. That should net you 20 creatures. If you have some Spirits in your hand, then they either are very cheap to play (Wisp, Shadow), or have a built-in Kamikaze button (Rusalka, KageMaRo), or certainly don't mind being an absurdly large flier for 5 mana (Revenant).

How to get MK:
Demonic Tutor, Diabolic Intent and Dimir House Guard, all can find MK. If you would be unlucky and get MK discarded, there are 3 Regrowths and a Will to fix things.

How to survive until you win:
Necroplasm can keep on sweeping the board, Rusalka can, along with 4 Shadows, get really annoying, and House Guard and Wisp are tough defenders.

Yes, this deck could only try to beat decks that do not have Disenchants, Naturalizes, counterspells, Tormod's Crypts, and other stuff.

Oh, and I ditched the Dredging theme.

You're the one who spelled "Combat" wrong!

I honestly think your mana base is a little short. I know you have tutors but still, I don't know if Culling of the Weak is enough to do it.

Plus you only have 21 creatures in your deck. Two swords and you're done. Hell, you could try Morality Shift.

Also, what format are we doing? Type 1? 1.5? I don't even know the names of types any more.

Seriously though, you forgot 2 Necroplasms and 4 Dimir House Parties, putting the creature total on 27.

The 21 creatures you refer to are the 21 Spirits that Anime Death Aspect needs to power up the MORTAL KOMBAAAT!!!

This deck may be only T1 legal, so :THUD: I put a Casual Stamp on it.

Morality Shift looks nice, but it does require 7 mana. Anime is one mana cheaper, and does something on its own when not combopiecing.

Perhaps this idea is nice for True Highlander.
