A couple of days ago my brother held a little tournament for some of his friends and invited me to join in and make a T2-ish deck (darn)...
so I figured I should build affinity, but I don't really have Ravagers, so I went with Broodstar...
This was the decklist:
4 Seat of the Synod
4 Vault of Whispers
4 Great Furnace
4 Darksteel Citadel
4 Cloudpost
2 Island
1 Swamp
1 Mountain
3 Atog
3 Shrapnel Blast
4 Broodstar
4 Thoughtcast
3 Thirst for Knowledge
1 Artificer's Intuition
4 Disciple of the Vault
4 Pentad Prism
4 Chromatic Sphere
4 Myr Servitor
4 Frogmite
4 Myr Enforcer
4 Talisman of Dominance
4 Talisman of Indulgence
4 Myr Moonvessel
4 Arcbound Worker
4 Cranial Plating
1 Chrome Mox
Sideboard:
4 Pyroclasm
4 Electrostatic Bolt
4 Echoing Ruin
2 Hurkyl's Recall
1 Rebuild
Like: after 5 minutes I figured out that for "the fastest T2-deck around", this monstrosity was slow as hell... (round: turn -goldfish-kills)

Because the deck was so slow, I figured I could as well make it a little more consistent and I started looking for other cards to somehow make the deck more reliable (and possibly cut down the number of cards a little)
My searching got rewarded with Genesis Chamber and Masticore... I removed Myr Moonvessel and 2 Talisman for them... I also changed the cloudposts into normal basic lands...
4 Seat of the Synod
4 Vault of Whispers
4 Great Furnace
4 Darksteel Citadel
3 Island
3 Swamp
3 Mountain
3 Atog
3 Shrapnel Blast
4 Broodstar
4 Thoughtcast
3 Thirst for Knowledge
1 Artificer's Intuition
4 Disciple of the Vault
4 Pentad Prism
4 Chromatic Sphere
4 Myr Servitor
4 Frogmite
4 Myr Enforcer
3 Talisman of Dominance
3 Talisman of Indulgence
4 Myr Moonvessel
4 Arcbound Worker
4 Cranial Plating
3 Genesis Chamber
2 Masticore
1 Chrome Mox

the first game that I got my Masticore in play I was left without cards in my hand (sucks), so I figured I needed a draw-engine... Because I had so many little guys my choice fell on Skullclamp. I removed the Myr Enforcer for them, since I probably couldn't reliably clamp those to dead and the deck had enough options to win already anyways...

3 Talisman of Dominance
3 Talisman of Indulgence
4 Myr Moonvessel
4 Arcbound Worker
4 Cranial Plating
3 Genesis Chamber
2 Masticore
1 Chrome Mox
At this moment I also changed Chrome Mox for Mox Diamond, the diamond is sooo much better, in fact, chrome mox kind'a smells in combo, because well, good combodecks contain artifacts and the non-artifacts in this deck were all too cool to remove...

I really liked the Skullclamp-draw-engine, but I figured that the rest of the deck now couldn't keep up with the speed of the skullclamp, so I removed some of the slower cards... Broodstar is, in fact, not really good in affinity, the stupid thing is slow as hell and it really doesn't do anything, each time I drew it, I'd rather have had a Shrapnell Blast or an Atog... Besides of that, I couldn't clamp it, so it went away... Masticore went away too, I just wanted to have my Clamp-engine...
I also added Ornithopter, because I liked the idea of Plated Ornithopters around...

okay, so really, Ornithopter doesn't do anything, off it goes... I figured that when I got the Clamp-engine running, I was casting quite a lot of spells... So I decided to add in a Storm-engine too... I also added an Ineffable's Will, because I figured that it would be nice to redo it all...

Wait, what am I doing?? I'm making a T2-deck here when there aren't any restrictions to sets and stuff...
Why not throw in all the T1-goodies??

And after some more testing (we're now arrived at yesterday afternoon) I figured that creatures suck anyways and that attacking was not a cool thing... I trimmed down the deck to 60 cards and removed most of the slower ways of winning (including the storm-cards)...

and now skullclamp stopped working effectively...
So I threw the deck in a corner and cut it in pieces... The rest of the night I was thinking of how to improve the deck, because I really wanted it to work correctly...
So today I came up with this:
the last change that was when this evening I figured that Y@wgmoth's Will didn't really speed me up, but set me back a turn (trying to win with a Disciple is hard when all the stuff gets removed from the game)...
Can somebody clear me up on that one, rules-wise...
"Whenever an artifact is put into a graveyard from play"
and
"Cards put into a graveyard this turn are removed from the game instead."

yep, I know, that's 21 restricted cards out of 60 cards...
It's also 37 artifacts on 60 cards...

You got owned by Jorn's gang??
Don't spam in my thread while I'm not finished yet ;)
FYI: Offcourse not, it's just that they had better affinity-cards, like ravagers... On the other hand, one of them played Spikeshot-affinity, which is, just a bad deck idea (he was a good player though and I think he won)

Will makes a replacement, the replacement doesn't trigger the disciple. So Will beats Disc. Sorry, no lifeloss for opponent.

ya this is not sounding anything like affinity in the least anymore, and with the well of cards u seem to have y dont u just make a really good type 1 deck and stop w/ affinity (its supposed to be just T2, maybe 1x anyway)

because I'm not able to make the top T1 decks...
and originality is fun, although combo lacks fun :S
