Since I have never been evil enough to introduce Draw-Go into my metagame I think it is time to do so, because of all of this talk of U control. The people around here dont know what a real mono blue control deck looks like, so I want to show them. If I had Finkel's I would throw in black, but since I dont I will use Ophidian.
Metagame is t-1 jank decks. This includes:
Random Agrro
Sligh
Stompy
r/g Beats
Fish
Landcontrol Fish
Clerics
Natural Order/Verdant Force deck
MBC
Parfait
Other randoms stuff...
Mana Sources (24):
22 Island
R Strip Mine
R Sol Ring
Creatures (7):
3 Morphling
4 Ophidian
Draw (10):
R Mystical Tutor
R Fact or Fiction
4 Accumulated Knowledge
4 Brainstorm
Counterpower (16):
4 Force of Will
3 MissDirexion
4 Counterspell
1 Mana Drain
2 Forbid
2 Daze
And 3 cards of leeway. I'm sure that I forgot something completley necessary, so fill me in! Is the amount of draw right? What about the amount of counters?

Powder Keg!!! They own your meta ... could as well run a Disk or two since you don't have mana artifacts.
I may be wrong but wasn't FoF unrestricted somehow!?
And while we agreed that AK is some good, I am not sure if it is better than Impulse in a deck like this.
Only one shuffle effect to support Brainstorms.

I think you should include Fetchlands, both for thinning out land, and for shuffle effects.
FoF legal in: Extended, Legacy, Prismatic, Tribal Wars, Singleton, Two-Headed Giant, Invasion Block
Restricted in: Vintage
So it is only restricted in Vintage??

Yeah, Vintage is the only format that has restrictions. So I must have dreamt it.
Fetchlands do thin the deck and they shuffle, but they also cost one life each, I am not that sure ...

Merchant Scroll shuffles, but than again, so does Soldier of Fortune... ;)
Fetchlands are great, at worst you can use the ones from mirage if you don't like paying life...
I agree on the Powder Keg issue, also, you can get away with playing a couple of Wastelands (it won't hurt your mana-base so it's only good)
on paper, Mana Leak >> Daze, but that may be just me... Also Mana Leak >> Forbid...
I always liked the single Disrupt that was played in decks like these...

Well, I would rather pay one life than using the Mirage fetchlands, CIP tapped is just bad for control plus they can be wasted (the onslaught fetchies can be sacced in response).
Daze is good and occupies 2 slots, not 4, which sounds reasonably. Mana Leak, I also thought about it, but I have no clue if they are worth it, having no Moxes. But maybe he lacks some solid 2-mana-counters ... only playtesting will tell.

Without the Mana Drains, I'm afraid he doesn't have enough 2-mana counters...
Although Miscalculation > Mana Leak in my opinion

I dont like the idea of pitchlands, it will hurt me more then it helps I think... I think the shuffle effect would be nice, but not worth adding the lands.
Impulse is nice, but what number? Does it replace AK?
Powder Keg admittedly is great.
Daze is nice because it counters first turn, but Mana leak is good. Thoughts? I like the Forbid's because I will have lots of cards in my hand, and Firbid lockdown is nice. What do you think about bounce cards? Aether Burst? Capsize?

Remove a Morphling and you've got two free spots, than insert 2 Capesize for the extra utility...

I like the hidden Jessica joke

I would have put Jessica but I feared that others may not get the joke

I usually like 2 'Phlings because sometimes if you get unlucky both of them can be at the bottom of the deck... but then again an opening hand with 'Phling sucks. But also with three you know that you can ditch one to Force and still be ok...
I will try it.
