Was it that bad?

No, i think he means that it was very sad. i heard that some people cried(empathy, not disgust) at certain parts of the movie.

Or am i wrong, and was it another stinker?

I am really afraid to watch that movie because I fear another disaster.

Well, maybe if there was character development beside Anakin being an angsty teen, I might have cried.

Or maybe if it didn't include such great lines as:
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" - Darth Vader

Or if some of the characters had common sense.

On a positive note, Jar Jar Binks was never allowed to talk.

I enjoyed it all...except for those dam corny lines by Vader at the end, and the horrible dialog between Anikin and Amadala.

I just wish they wouldn't have used just the lasdt 5-10 minutes or so to tie everythgin up. I wanted to see things get all connected between this episode and the next 3, all trhough the movie, not just at the end.

Whatever, all just minor stuff that is being picked at. Go see it, you'll enjoy it, if not think it is kick ass.

I am gonna see it this Sunday with a cool chick who was in my school last year. I don't think that episode 1 sucked except for Jar Jar. He was so over the top. Episode 2 was not bad, I can't really find a flaw save for nothing that epic happening.

Am I the ONLY one who sees bad writing as a FLAW?

Well, since when are you listening to Xion!? ;)

Episode 1 & 2 are very badly written and almost as badly put into scene. There are so many mistakes that even novice flm makers would not make. Okay, its good to not follow the usual pattern here and there but jeez, Lukas did not follow any rules of good filmmaking.

I'm going to see it Monday with a bunch of friends. Can't wait.

I might add that I am the hugest Star Wars geek here.
Reasons:
1) I did my English literary analysis on the novel for Episode III. I might add that I got an 'A' because my English teacher, oddly enough, is also a big Star Wars fan. (A woman in her mid-20's - I swear, it seems that everyone loves Star Wars, but doesn't tell anyone until it comes up in conversation)
2) Two words: Yuuzhan Vong

I saw it today and it was awesome. I do not care what anybody says.

I have very high expectations for it.

This is speaking as the only person in the universe that thought Episode II was a great movie.

I liked the fight with Grevious (I'm nto sure on the spelling.) But If he kept doing what he did at the beginning, plus using his other two sabers as a shield, Obi-wan couldn't win!

(Yes, this is my second star wars movie i ever seen. A friend forced me to go with him -.-)

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Xion (Xion) on Monday, May 23, 2005 - 07:47 am:

Grevious was alot stronger in the animated clone wars thing, but it was still not a bad fight. I was surprised Dooku was killed in like the first 10 minutes of the movie. I expected Palpatine to orchestrate a big fight between him and Anakin after he had turned Anakin just like he did with Luke and Vader in Return of the Jedi to see who would become his apprentice.

those buzz droids didnt make any sense. why attack the ship's systems when they could much more easily make a small hole in the cockpit? nearly-instant death for the pilot.

It is an cool film although it has some corney bits and some flaws and the odd polt hole (Anakin was supposed to fall in the molten lava) but aside from that a very nice way that the Palpatine managed to corrupt Anakin to the dark side in a few short steps and keep him under control.

I watched the fight with Dooku. ITbored me in some ways, but not all fights are supposed to be interesting or fully orchastrated. The whole point of a fight IS TO WIN. Not put on a spectular show that could give your oppoenent the edge. And thus it was actually kinda realistic like that.
