Overlooked Cards
Songstitcher

I love the little tappy guys, as Ulrich calls them—small creatures with abilities. Songstitcher is one of my current favorites, a 1/1 white creature from Urza's Saga. She costs one white mana to cast, and her special ability is: 1W: Target attacking creature with flying deals no damage this turn.

Songstitcher is just an all around good card. If you pull it early in the game it is a 1/1 creature that only costs one white mana to get into play. If you pull it late in the game it is a good bet that your opponent will have at least one pesky flyer that you need to do something about. Also, the art is interesting and lovely and the flavor text goes along with the art quite nicely.

With Songstitcher in play one can feel free to block that attacking 4/4 flyer (say an Air Elemental for example) with your own 4/4 flyer (say a Serra Angel) and not end up loosing your Serra. Just activate the Songstitcher (and pray to whatever deity you hold dear that your opponent doesn't have an Interdict or Abeyance) and prevent the Air Elemental from dealing its damage. Thus saving your Serra for the next battle.

The ability of the Songstitcher is very useful in many situations. With a Songstitcher in play you can wait out that irksome Lord of the Pit. After all, your opponent is bound to run out of creatures to sacrifice to it sooner or later. You can make it sooner if you can orchestrate a few sorties of your own.

While Songstitcher is very useful I do not depend upon it too much. It makes a wonderful diversion in that it goads your opponent into doing something about it. Most of the time I just let it go when they try to get rid of it. This serves two purposes. First it uses up one of their creature or permanent removal spells. Second, it confuses them; after all it is a good and effectively annoying card so letting it go will really make them wonder. I try to have something worse to play when they do that. Like a Combat Medic or an Archangel. Having something better to put on the table serves the purpose of making them think twice before they get rid of my Songstitcher next time.

I have one word to say in response to the tappy guys: Pyroclasm.

Seriously though, for an evil way to use Songstitcher, you can have even more fun by putting Wanderlust or any of the other fun creature enchantments which have come out recently on your opponent's now-useless creature. They either have to waste creature removal on their own beast or take damage from it!
