"I have heard terrible tales of black rains, ashen fields, and metal that screams. I have consoled myself that the tales were a myth of some fevered mind. But today I saw a walkerand now I fear the truth." Kasib Ibn Naji, Letters
Comments: "I created what would become Phyrexia.com on May 28, 1998 after being unsatisfied with the quality of the current Magic sites. After much time and work, I started Phyrexia.com on January 1, 1999 to become the greatest Magic site achievable. I worked at Land of Destoguardiana (later to become MtgNews) in late 1997 as tracer; Magic: The Internet Club during 1998 as senior tracer, administrator, keeper of trivia, and journalist; and have written entries on the Magic Dojo. I later became a storyline guru when I grew tired of spoiling the fun of discovery, the sense that you get when you open a pack of cards without knowing what cards would be in the set, which I did being a tracer. Despite my age, I still love going to the newsgroups, forums, chatrooms, and working on Phyrexia.com, which I hope will become as grand as I first imagined on May 28, 1998."

Favorite colors: Lands, Artifacts, Green, and the rest.
Started Magic in: 1995
Position at Phyrexia: Writer of Lost Archives and Source Generic columns
Favorite card: Multani, Maro-Sorcerer
"The reason is because he is the embodiment of the character I invented several months before the idea behind Multani, even before Maro: Meretan, 'Tree Man.'"
Favorite picture: Weatherseed Treefolk
"Because it is a case of Tree peer-pressure, just look at the two other treefolk egging him on. I think it is funny."
Favorite flavor text: Pyrokinesis
"Anyone want some . . . toast?" Jaya Ballard, Task Mage
"Probably the first time I noticed the humor behind the scenes of Magic. Changed my life."
Comments: "I write 'Lost Archives' and 'Source Generic' in the Gate to Phyrexia ezine. Lost Archives tries to bring some of the lesser thought of decks into the limelight where their counterparts once were. Most of the decks I saw when I first played are forgotten now, but the cards that made them so great are around in different forms, waiting to bring back out a "new"killer archetype. People forget too easily the past skills and playing styles that made Magic what it is today. I hope my article does them justice."
"In minds are worlds not shared enough. Of Dominaria there is Source Generic, a detective who would give away everything just to know what part he plays in an old duel that never was resolved. I write this story with a little bit of humor between the seriousness. Read it and enjoy, I'm writing it for anyone who wants a little fun."

Comments: "Have been a part of the Magic online community since early '98. Have worked in Library of Dominia, traded heavily in many circles, and was prominant in Magic: The Internet Club. Always wanted to write for an e-zine, and wrote "small" articles on forum's whenever I could. Have always been an advocater of simplifying Magic and making it like it was way back in the old days...."

Comments: "My goal, as a staff member at Phyrexia, is to motivate every player who reads my stuff to use their knowledge and imagination to try original decks and ideas. That isno carbon copy decks! Richard Garfield envisioned a game with infinite possibilities and strategies. That is what he gave us. It is now up to us to find and use them. Be a crusader, not a poseur."

Favorite picture: Scorched Ruins

Comments: "Just for those who can't tell by the name, I'm a guy. The reasons for the long gaps between my introduction, learning, and owning my own cards for Magic are respectively, because I couldn't find any one to play with for a while and because I didn't have any money. I tend to play games of any and all sorts; other than Magic, my favorites are probably Poker, Chess, Hexen, and Scrabble, in no particular order. (I also spend a lot of time on crossword and logic puzzles.) I am attending college at the University of Oregon, as a Computer Science major, and play in tournaments when I get the chance (which usually happens about once a month or so.) I am a regular reader of all three major newsgroups, and the Dojo's strategy sections (generally shunning the decklists, however, in favor of pursuing my own styles.) Most of the strategy I write about is based off my own personal observations. I am currently in the very long and arduous process of creating my own fantasy RPG from scratch."

Favorite flavor text: Lhurgoyf
"Ach! Hans, run! It's the Lhurgoyf!" Saffi Eriksdotter, last words
"It still makes me smile . . . ."
Comments: "At the roots of the game, it is pure mathematics, although the psychological element of poker is present as well. After reading articles written by Richard Garfield, I came to appreciate the idea behind the game: playing for the sake of playing. Anyone who has spent countless hours at this 'addiction' will understand what that means . . . ."
